The Village Without Peaches

Legend tells of a village where peach trees once flourished — Taozizhai, the Peach Village. When the village faded into history, the land returned to wilderness and became state forest. Yet the ancient tea trees planted by those forgotten hands continued to grow, century after century, reaching skyward as towering tall-pole ancient trees.

Today, tea gardens are tended by just over a dozen families from Xinmangong and Xiaomanlong villages — the third generation since their grandfathers first discovered these groves while hunting in the mountains.

Discovery & Legacy

The first generation of tea farmers discovered this forgotten ancient tea grove while hunting. These trees grew freely in the state forest without human intervention — no dwarfing, no fertilizers, no pesticides.

Guardianship & Persistence

To protect the state forest ecosystem, tea farmers only enter the forest during spring harvest. Strict picking standards — one bud two leaves — hand-fried, sun-dried, stone-pressed. Every step follows ancient traditional methods.
